GINTARAS JASAITIS
DEPUTY PROSECUTOR GENERAL


Was born on 17 January 1964 in Šakiai.

In 1982 graduated from the 40th Secondary School of Vilnius (currently “Minties” Gymnasium).
In 1990 graduated from Vilnius University and obtained qualification of lawyer.

From 1989 to 1990 – Interrogator in Prosecutor’s Office of Vilnius Region.
From 1991 to 1993 – Interrogator in Crime Investigation Department Vilnius Division under Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania.
From 1993 to 1995 – Interrogator in Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of Prosecutor’s Office of Vilnius City.
From 1995 to 1997 – Prosecutor in Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Division of Vilnius Region Prosecutor’s Office.
Since 1996 – Assistant in Department of Criminology and Criminal Procedure of the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University.
From 1997 to 2002 – Chief Prosecutor of Kaunas Region Prosecutor’s Office.
From 1998 to 2001 – Assistant in Institute of Law of Vytautas Magnus University.

On 11 April 2002 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Lithuania was appointed as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania. Holds the state rank of counsellor of justice.


Knows Russian, German and English.
Married. Has two daughters.
Spends his leisure time fishing, listening to music, looking after plants.
