Education

1994 graduation from the Lithuanian Police Academy, Qualification of the Official of Internal Affairs Institutions and Degree of Bachelor of Law.

1998 graduation from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, Qualification of the Lawyer.

Work experience

1994–1997 Ukmergė region Police Unit, Certified Officer.

1997–1999 Tax Police Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, Inspector.

2003–2004 Ukmergė Business College, Lecturer.

1999–2000 Ukmergė region District Court, Candidate Judge.

2000–2015 Ukmergė region District Court, Judge.

2007–2012 Ukmergė region District Court, President.

Competence of the Prosecutor General:

  • heads the Prosecution Service of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • supervises the activities of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Department, Division of Law and Personnel, Division of Internal Investigation, Division of Internal Audit, Secretariat of the Prosecutor General, Communication Division at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania and the activities of the Organized Crime and Corruption Investigation Divisions at territorial Prosecutor’s Office in the area of criminal prosecutions; 
  • represents the Prosecution Service in state authorities and other institutions;
  • supervises the activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office and territorial Prosecutor’s Offices in the area of coordination and control of legitimacy of the acts performed by the entities of criminal intelligence.


In the absence of the Prosecutor General, the duties of the Prosecutor General shall be performed by the Deputy Prosecutor General appointed by the Order of the Prosecutor General and where the Prosecutor General cannot designate a replacement due to the objective reasons, the duties of the Prosecutor General shall be performed by the Deputy Prosecutor General without the appointment.
